David 20th September 2021

Peter was a kind and gentle man. I would have liked to have known him more but have fond memories of the times we spent together. That included a trip to Brands Hatch to watch the racing through the day which Peter loved. The rain came pouring down halfway through the day and Peter, Hazel and myself had to don our waterproof ponchos to keep dry. We all continued intently watching the racing and making the most of the situation laughing and continuing our picnic. It was a good day despite the weather and a fond memory. More recently, I remember we were going to be unable to meet in person for Peter’s 80th birthday sadly due to the lockdown and so came up with the next best solution. Hazel baked a lovely chocolate and orange cake which we sent down in the post and made a mini version for ourselves also. We then shared the same cake over an online Zoom call which worked really well and we had a wonderful afternoon watching Peter open his presents and celebrating together. Peter will be greatly missed by myself and many others. David
